摘要: A limitation of many experimental studies in predation is that they assume primates only use visual and auditory cues to discern the presence predators ignore importance olfactory cues. This an obvious gap research, given chemical information, particularly for nocturnal species. I conducted a study role signals predator detection by spectral tarsiers, Tarsius spectrum, at Tangkoko Nature Reserve Sulawesi, Indonesia. For 80 nights, 20 adult tarsiers were exposed wooden civet model covered urine, without stick urine. Antipredator responses overwhelmingly more frequent intense indicating play important detecting terrestrial predators.
