摘要: Abstract This paper has studied the open-hole and pin filled-hole effects on tensile properties of Kenaf/Polypropylene Nonwoven Composites (KPNCs) in production automotive interior parts. The influence specimen width-to-hole diameter (W/D) ratios 6, 3, 2 failure load was studied. Two sample thicknesses 3 mm 6 mm were evaluated. Mechanical KPNCs terms uniaxial tensile, (OHT), (FHT) measured experimentally. A preliminary model by extended finite element method (XFEM) established to predict simulate crack propagation thick specimens. Good agreement found between experimental simulation results. By calculating stress concentration factor Kt for brittle materials, net section Kn ductile strength reduction Kr, it that KPNC relatively insensitive notch.
