摘要: Abstract In order to assess how different elements of plate boundary-scale shear zone tectonite fabrics reflect the boundary kinematics and strain history, we have examined a range such structures within active Alpine Fault mylonite zone, New Zealand. this oblique slip find that quartz CPO fabric symmetry individual mica grain lineations incremental stretches but develop stable orientations parallel finite stretching direction (S 1 ). This S trends motion vector because experiences some extrusion toward free surface. Conversely, asymmetric (such as bands fish) simple shear-dominated deformation late in imposed relative vector. Finally, linear are poor record mylonitic (1) they dominantly inherited been only partially re-oriented during mylonitisation, (2) macroscopically become less visible at higher strains due homogenisation. Generally, these results indicate that, particularly heterogeneous, polyphase zones, full understanding movement history can be obtained by considering kinematic information from many sources possible.
