摘要: The relationship between self-employment and some macroeconomic variables is has been at the heart of debate about contributions to employment economic growth. This paper devoted exploration co-movement causality entrepreneurship performance in both directions. It looks for basic relationships Spain US, using quarterly data from 1987:2 2004:4. Our results do not support procyclicality general, but we found strong evidence on a specific group self-employed: self-employed with employees (employers) Spain. On other hand tests suggest that business cycle (GDP or unemployment) causes employers provides instantaneous self-employment/own-account workers GDP, For US weak correlations (they tend become larger when forecast horizon increases).
