摘要: Carbon capture and storage (CCS) promises the low-emissions coal power station. Th e technology is under development; a number of technological, economic, environmental safety issues remain to be solved. With regard possible trajectories towards sustainable electricity system, CCS raises questions. On one hand, may prolong prevailing coal-to-electricity regime countervail eff orts increase energy effi ciency. other given indisputable need continue using fossil fuels for some time, it serve as bridging future. Energy ciency could then conceptualized natural ally CCS, aims at reducing consumption thus amount CO 2 captured stored. We discuss these case Germany. Aft er survey current state art deployment activities, we use general equilibrium model analyze impact introducing German system with respect mix, resulting emissions interaction measures. shows that, assumption policy, both will contribute climate gas mitigation. A target can achieved lower marginal costs when option included in analysis.. conclude an appropriate legal policy framework, are complementary measures should form part broad mix required successful mitigation strategy.
