Transcatheter arterial infusion therapy in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer: A feasibility study

摘要: Purpose: To evaluate the effects of transcatheter arterial infusion (TAI) therapy in 18 patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Methods: The drugs infused were epirubicin 60 mg, mitomycin C 20 and 5-fluorouracil 500 mg. efficacy TAI was evaluated by a tumor marker (CA19-9), computed tomography (CT) findings, postoperative histopathological specimens. Results: In 10 15 cases, level decreased after therapy. 6 14 CT showed decrease size, 1 case, disappeared completely. cases could be resected. Necrosis, fibrosis, degeneration cancer cells seen 3 4 for whom evaluation done. median survival 11 months. 17 back pain chief complaint, reduced to self-controlled following No major complications encountered. Conclusion: appears an effective palliative treatment
