Self-medication among students in Isfahan University of Medical Sciences based on Health Belief Model.

摘要: Background: The prevalence of self-medication is high all over the world, especially in Iran. But there a paucity studies to explore activities among university students. Therefore, present study was undertaken determine student Isfahan University Medical Sciences, based on Health Belief Model (HBM). Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional conducted 197 medical students Sciences who were randomly chosen by stratified random sampling method 2009. data collected using validated reliable questionnaire HBM. Statistical analysis performed SPSS software (ver. 16). Descriptive analytical statistics (independent t-test test) used. A two-tailed P value lower than 0.05 considered statistically significant. Results: mean standard deviation participants' age 22.00 ± 2.77 years. 67.3% sample consisted females. scores knowledge, perceived susceptibility, severity, benefits, barrier 80.36 18.29, 40.92 13.89, 61.48 19.03, 59.11 18.46, 30.36 12.40, respectively. According results, 84.98% had experienced at least for one disease during past 6 months. Conclusions: we can consider it as health problem. So, need educational interventions students, HBM constructs.
