摘要: Background/Objectives Methylchloroisothiazolinone/methylisothiazolinone (MCI/MI) is a preservative used in both cosmetic and industrial settings. In Europe it allowed to be rinse-off cosmetics only because of its propensity cause allergic contact dermatitis (ACD). No such legislation exists Australia. recent years MI without MCI has been used. August 2010 the first cases causing non-occupational ACD were reported Europe. The objective here was present case series occurring Australian setting. Methods:  We retrospectively reviewed positive reactions MCI/MI from Skin Cancer Foundation patch test clinical database. added our baseline January 2011. Results:  In total 653 patients tested for there 43 reactions, which 23 relevant, based on history exposure MI. Seven parents young children with hand caused by contained baby wipes. remaining reacted shampoos, conditioners, deodorants, moisturisers, skin cleanser facial wipe. Three had associated occupational cleansers. Conclusions These data demonstrate time that an emerging, important allergen settings An source wipes, predominantly parents. We believe MI, not just MCI/MI, series.
