摘要: An emerging generic framing procedure (GFP) standard defines a new data encapsulation protocol designed to accept and transport multiple protocols over metropolitan, storage, wide area networks. Why is another method needed for transporting traffic WANs? How does GFP encapsulate transport? This article provides an introduction applications, reviews existing options (e.g., ATM HDLC), introduces as technology, compares popular alternatives.
