摘要: Abstract Pollutants from mid-latitudes (mainly Eurasia) reach the polar region through long-range atmospheric transport during winter. Due to very low precipitation in arctic region, pollutant-laden aerosols stable, and dark atmosphere are believed have relatively longer residence times. The disequilibrium between daughter products of 222 Rn, conjunction with concentrations 7 Be can be utilized obtain information on times sources haze. We carried out a pilot study explore feasibility determining time Towards this, we analyzed 10 aerosol samples two stations, Poker Flat Eagle, Alaska for activity ratios Be, 210 Po, Pb. Po/ Pb varied 0 0.177. corresponding obtained using Po Pb, 39 days. This is first an estimate haze determined. Be/ 2.2 14.0, possibly suggesting varying inputs upper atmosphere. Since one major pathways pollution, this has potential significance fate inorganic organic pollutants region.
