摘要: A prospective clinical and microbiologic study was carried out on 413 indigent patients undergoing cesarean section. Operative site infection developed in 160 (38.5%). Initial treatment with penicillin kanamycin successful 125 of these infections (78%). Thirty-five (22%) failed to respond were treated clindamycin or chloramphenicol. Twenty-eight the 35 responded promptly additional antibiotic therapy. The remaining 7 (4%) had either abscesses, hematomas, presumed septic pelvic thrombophlebitis. Among anaerobic cultures, B fragilis isolated 12% a good response penicillin-kanamycin, but from 53% poor penicillin-kanamycin Similar critical evaluations other regimens are needed.
