摘要: The issue of scale is examined in the context a watershed development policy (WSD) India. WSD goals, by improving natural resource base, aim to improve livelihoods rural communities through increased sustainable production. It has generally been practiced at micro-level less than 500 ha, as this was seen be that would encourage participative management. There some concern land area may too small and lead optimal hydrological, economic equity outcomes. As result there move create guidelines for meso-scale above 5,000 ha an endeavour A multidisciplinary team assembled evaluate proposed approach. In developing adequate methodology evaluation it soon became clear itself not only determinant success. effect geographical (or level) on determined variation other drivers will influence success such hydrological conditions, use available institutional structures. How should interpreted different levels light interactions between biophysical socio-economic scales discussed.
