摘要: Nail polish that has completely dried on the fingernails contains water-soluble components attain skin during extensive but transient contact. This was proven by water extraction of thin layers nail had been painted onto glass plates and allowed to dry for 3 days. Comparing isolated fractions compounds with known ingredients revealed substances are para- ortho-toluenesulfonamide. Dihuty1 phthalate constituents toluenesulfonamide-formaldehyde resin (TS-F-R), which is basic material almost all polishes sold worldwide. 12 female patients allergy were patch tested 21 components, including those isolated. Only 2 positive. These contained a monomer dimer created condensation TS-F-R. Their structures elucidated. The 3rd compound, trimer, remained negative, except in 1 case.
