摘要: Barrett's esophagus is a metaplastic alteration of the normal esophageal epithelium that detected on endoscopic examination and pathologically confirmed by presence intestinal metaplasia biopsy. Its major significance as predisposing factor for adenocarcinoma, which carries high mortality rate rapidly growing incidence in United States. Detection allows surveillance order to detect potential development dysplasia early cancer before symptoms develop, thereby significantly increases treatment options may lower from adenocarcinoma. Much current work field aimed at reducing risk progression cancer, identification biomarkers predict towards cancer. present 10%-20% patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) has also been who deny classic GERD are undergoing endoscopy other indications. We used an evidence-based approach describe esophagus.
