摘要: The city of Campinas is located in an endemic area for Brazilian spotted fever Sao Paulo State, where several cases have recently occurred. Capybaras been associated with the cycle this disease, they present positive serology and serve as host ticks genus Amblyomma, main vectors brazilian fever. Ticks were colleted both from vegetation park Lago do Cafe, urban City, SP, a site suspected human collected examinaded presence rickettsiae using polymerase chain reaction haemolymph test. Through analysis gene gltA nucleotide sequence, adults Amblyomma cajennense cooperi found to be infected non pathogenic Rickettsia bellii. However, no Spotted Fever Group detected. These results indicate that role capybaras reservoirs still uncertain further studies are required.
