摘要: There were 193 schizomids (hubbardids) collected from the soil (0-7 cm depth) during a 12 month study of primary upland forest (37.5 6 16.8 ind/m2/month) near Manaus. They represented by Surazomus brasiliensis(Kraus 1967) and an undescribed species new genus (96% 4% total catch, respectively). About 68% all specimens S. brasiliensis inhabited organic layer (0-3.5 where monthly catches juveniles positively correlated with tem- perature. Females twice as abundant males. The lack distinct reproductive period presence (in particular first nymphal instar) adults (both sexes) throughout year indicate plurivoltine mode life. Few caught on surface, none tree trunks or in canopy. Abundance is compared to that Palpigradi (micro- whip scorpions) Thelyphonida (vinegaroons) same site.
