摘要: The life-history patterns of four Hydropsyche species (Trichoptera: Hydropsychidae) found in the Credit and Humber Rivers southern Ontario were investigated through rearing studies, larval adult collections, analyses densities mortality field populations pupae. slossonae was univoltine but probably capable producing a second generation under favourable conditions at warmest station which it occurred. sparna partially bivoltine upstream stations downstream stations. At stations, common bronta, trivoltine, morosa, bivoltine. sparna, H. bronta morosa all exhibited split-cohort development, not summer-produced larvae completed pupated emerged before end growing season. Overwintering consisted young that had hatched from eggs laid by adults previous generation. Analysis temporal changes living dead pupae provided reliable way to separate overwintering spring- generations.
