摘要: Abstract Various plant sterols have been tested for their ability to order soybean phosphatidylcholine bilayers as monitored by 2H-NMR spectroscopy. Sitosterol and 24ξ-methylpollinastanol, a 9β,19-cyclopropylsterol, appear be the most effective sterols. The presence of either trans-oriented double bond at C-22 in C-24 alkylated sterol side chain or Δ8(9) tetracyclic ring system is shown reduce significantly ordering efficiency molecule.
