摘要: Dysfunction of the right ventricle (RV) plays a crucial role in outcome various cardiovascular diseases. Previous studies on RV metabolism are sparse although evidence implies it may differ from left ventricular (LV) metabolism. Therefore, aims this study were 1) to determine predictors glucose uptake (GU) and free fatty acid (FFAU) 2) compare them LV healthy middle-aged men. Altogether 28 healthy, sedentary, (40-55 years) men studied. Insulin-stimulated GU fasting FFAU measured by positron emission tomography structural functional parameters cardiac magnetic resonance. Several related whole-body health also measured. Predictors determined pairwise correlation analysis, lasso regression models, variable clustering using heatmap. RVGU was most strongly predicted age moderately ejection fraction (EF). The strongest determinants RVFFAU exercise capacity (peak oxygen uptake), resting heart rate, LVEF, insulin-stimulated rate. When considering metabolism, RVEF associated with LVGU. In addition, LVGU strongly, negatively, influenced LVFFAU only LVEF. This shows that while have shared characteristics, they unique properties. Age subject should be taken into account when measuring myocardial utilization. Ejection is even so more closely both ventricles LVEF ventricles, finding supporting interdependence. However, utilization associates better physical fitness relatively sedentary population decreased fat To conclude, highlights need for further designed specifically less-known RV, as results physiology not directly applicable RV.
