摘要: The pressure-bomb technique as developed by Scholander and colleagues is reviewed. A theoretical analysis of the equilibrium water-relations individual cells a twig derived taking due account fact that each cell has unique solute concentration, fluid volume, shape, mechanical constraint virtue its cell-wall structure attachment to nearest neighbours. These equations combine give complete description whole in response (air pressure) stress. Our suggests 'pressure-volume curve' can be related quantitatively meaningful bulk parameters water relations : viz. total osmolar content symplast N„ original volume V0, expressed from Ve, gas-pressure bomb P, volume-averaged turgor pressure (the sum products relative cell). An empirical relation for twigs found which fits all species examined; it also single (Nitella) cells.
