摘要: Populations of fish and shellfish show a wide variability in their ability to tolerate or resist infectious diseases. For most species diseases studied date, significant component this is genetically determined, heritable, affected by many genes. Quantitative genetic animal breeding principles, accounting for the unique biology culture conditions aquatic species, can therefore be applied produce populations with greater resistance tolerance, great progress has been made so far. High-throughput sequencing, genomic selection, other new technologies methodologies have potential improving accuracy speeding rate improvement disease resistance, identifying genes immune function increasing knowledge about mechanisms affecting immunity. By reducing overall impact on farm economics, reliance antibiotics chemical treatments, strategies are key importance future sustainability world aquaculture.
