Preparation of polystyrene microspheres for laser velocimetry in wind tunnels

摘要: Laser Velocimetry (L/V) had made great strides in replacing intrusive devices for wind tunnel flow measurements. The weakness of the L/V has not been itself, but proper size seeding particles having known drag characteristics. For many Langley Wind Tunnel applications commercial polystyrene latex microspheres suspended ethanol, injected through a fluid nozzle provides excellent was used due to high cost.
