摘要: Microbeam radiation therapy (MRT), a form of experimental radiosurgery tumours using multiple parallel, planar, micrometres-wide, synchrotron-generated X-ray beams ('microbeams'), can safely deliver doses to contiguous normal animal tissues that are much higher than the maximum tolerated by same animals or patients from any standard millimetres-wide radiosurgical beam. An array parallel microbeams, even in cause little damage radiosensitive developing tissues, for example, chick chorioallantoic membrane, inhibit growth ablate some transplanted malignant rodents. The cerebella 100 20 38g suckling Sprague-Dawley rat pups and 13 5 12kg weanling Yorkshire piglets were irradiated with an synchrotron-wiggler-generated microbeams overlapping MRT-relevant range (about 50-600Gy) ID17 wiggler beamline tangential 6GeV electron synchrotron ring at European Synchrotron Radiation Facility Grenoble, France. Subsequent favourable development most over least 1 year suggests MRT might be used treat children's brain less risk central nervous system is presently case when wider beams.
