摘要: Abstract During the past half century, less industrialized countries experienced rapid increases in animal production through both large-scale confinement systems and traditional small-scale systems. These now produce majority of world's meat. The regulations other programs designed to safeguard welfare European English-speaking may prove ineffective diverse burgeoning nations. However, improvements still be achieved (1) basic economic incentive reduce losses caused by injury, stress malnutrition, (2) disease control programs, as long these are well conducted, (3) international corporations applying their existing standards on a more global basis. Moreover, low labour costs could allow labour-intensive, non-confinement flourish, especially if there is an market for such products. Although plays no role agreements World Trade Organization, internationally recognized incorporated mutual agreement bilateral multilateral trade agreements, they required future food companies customers. There important opportunities scientists support protection initiatives countries, technical assistance research education.
