摘要: Background Mechanical lithotripsy and/or stent insertion is the alternative therapeutic approach in difficult endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) case. This study was designed to investigate appropriate treatment for extraction of bile duct stones cases ERCP. Methods Between 2000 and 2008, 744 ERCP procedures were performed 592 patients with choledocholithiasis our endoscopy unit. The demographic features, clinical laboratory findings collected from a prospectively held database. Bile calculi extracted by basket balloon catheter following sphincterotomy. Patients retained regarded as cases. These treated mechanical those incomplete clearance underwent placement. Results Two hundred forty-five (41%) male 347 (59%) female mean age 58 years (range 19-95 years). Stones impacted 27 (5%). Stone 610 procedures, 70 procedures. Forty-four insertion, 20 replacement. Morbidity occurred 39 (5%), no mortality associated procedure. Hemorrhage 9 impaction 4. Mild pancreatitis cholangitis developed 12 11 patients, respectively. Conclusion Difficult can be successfully lithotripsy, should applied when common cannot cleared completely.
