摘要: Most extinctions estimated to have occurred in the historical past, or predicted occur future, are of insects. Despite this, study insect has been neglected. Only 70 modern documented, although thousands occurred. By focusing on some documented as case studies, I considered ways which may differ from those other taxa. These studies suggested that two types extinction might be common for insects but rare taxa: narrow habitat specialists and coextinctions affiliates with their hosts. Importantly, both these forms often ignored by conservation programs focused vertebrates plants. Anecdotal evidence recent simulations suggest many already because loss restricted habitats If we serious about conservation, need spend more time money documenting such extinctions. To neglect is ignore majority species were conservation.
