摘要: Electronics miniaturization techniques have been used to fabricate substrata study contact guidance of cells. Topographical three cell types (BHK, MDCK and chick embryo cerebral neurones) was examined on grooved varying dimensions (4-24 microns repeat, 0.2-1.9 depth). Alignment within 10 degrees groove direction as our criterion for guidance. It found that repeat spacing had a small effect (alignment is inversely proportional spacing) but depth proved be much more important in determining alignment, which increased with depth. Measurements alignment examination by scanning electron microscopy showed BHK cells interacted differently substrata, also the response depended whether or not were isolated part an epithelial island. Guidance multiple topographical cue greater than could predicted from cells' reactions single (Clark et al. Development 99: 439-448, 1987). Substratum topography considered many developmental processes. Cellular properties such cytoskeletal organisation, adhesion interaction other are discussed being factors susceptibility topography.
