摘要: Abstract Ruthenium encapsulated in an aluminium oxyhydroxide-support was investigated for the transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes and ketones with potassium formate as a sustainable green hydrogen donor. The entrapped ruthenium were narrowly distributed mean diameters 1.5–1.8 nm. XPS studies show that present Ru 0 3+ . catalysts showed high activity even at low metal loadings 0.5–2 wt.%. maximum TOF benzaldehyde over 1 wt.% Ru. reduction aromatic aliphatic facile occurred 100% yield. In comparison, less readily reduced although moderate to excellent yields could be obtained after longer reaction time. No leaching observed contrast catalyst prepared by wet impregnation. Washing used water ethanol effectively removed deposited bicarbonate co-product recycled maintained its up five runs.
