摘要: A critical comparison of ex perimental measurements and the theo retical prediction weld pool shapes in gas tungsten arc welding operations sug gests that postulate laminar flow behavior may not pro vide a realistic shapes, especially for pools deeper than about 1 mm. Furthermore, there appears to be considerable body evidence suggests turbulent or at least transitional. In this paper, preliminary computed results are presented describ ing circulation using various turbulence models, these ap pear provide much better agreement with measurements. These findings gest previous modeling efforts pos tulating should critically reexamined.
