摘要: Microporous–mesoporous activated carbons from five different types of agro-industrial wastes were produced using chemical activation with ZnCl2 and carbonization at mild conditions 600 °C, comprehensively characterized investigated for removal methylene blue (MB) in aqueous solution, a model large-molecular-size organic pollutant. The external part the mango pit (mango seed husk) was used production carbon (AC) first time. Despite that raw agro-materials exhibited significantly porosity, all possessed well-developed microporous–mesoporous structures showing high surface areas micropore volumes. Further, it revealed pore size distribution agro-material is more important property development structure ACs than their overall porosity. All adsorbed MB, reaching most cases 100 % phase. Adsorption data fitted well to pseudo-second-order kinetic model. For MB adsorption, mesoporosity ratio micropores accessible key factors since there exists size-selectivity effect on adsorption due molecular dimensions. dimensions estimated via DFT calculations 1.66 × 0.82 0.54 nm, this parameter correlated determined distributions carbons.
