摘要: AimsThis article explores the meanings substance-abusing clients attach to family and friendships during motivational interviewing (MI) sessions in Probation Service.DataThe analyses are based on videotaped transcribed data consisting of 82 MI sessions. This database involves first two counseling 41 client-counselor pairs. Sessions were 12 Service offices Finland between 2007 2009.MethodsThe analysis relies coding client's change talk utterances qualitative semiotic framework.ResultsThe significant others diverse from point view motivation: appeared as a support for change, an aspiration, sufferer, or obstacle change; friendship surmounted obstacle, cause change.ConclusionsSignificant their quality important factors that promote hinder substance abuser' talk.
