摘要: Abstract Pitch oxidation by air-blowing has been studied as a possible method to modify pitch properties for composite preparation. Two commercial coal-tar pitches, an impregnating and binder pitch, were air-blown at temperatures between 250–300 °C, 18 14 h, respectively, produce pitches of similar softening point ranging from 148 223 °C. Parent treated characterized elemental analysis, FTIR, thermal analysis (TMA, TGA, DTA), solubility in toluene quinoline, XPS, X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy. Additionally, parent also extrography. Pyrolysis products obtained 450 microscopy monitor the influence on mesophase formation. Results show that modification produces significant increase carbon yield, without restricting fluidity necessary impregnation. During air-blowing, reactions dehydrogenative polymerization crossing-linking oligomers occur.
