摘要: Abstract The kinetics and mechanism of Ag(I) catalyzed oxidation l -Serine by cerium(IV) in sulfuric acid media has been investigated titrimetric technique redox the temperature range 293–308 K. reaction was first order with respect to serine, inverse Ce(IV) a positive fractional Ag(I). Increase [H+] decreased rate. added SO 4 2 - rate reaction. Under experimental conditions, kinetically active species cerium found be Ce(SO4)2. major product serine identified as glycoldehyde which is confirmed IR spectrum corresponding hydrazone. nitrogen atmosphere, system can initiate polymerization acrylonitrile, indicating generation free radicals. On basis results, suitable proposed. constants determining step together activation parameters were evaluated.
