摘要: Home ranges of eight red foxes in south-central Wisconsin were studied by telemetry techniques 1964 and 1965. Frequency-distribution graphs activity radii revealed characteristics ranges, but testing for kurtosis skewness did not always reveal limits to range. a combination mathematical analyses subjective appraisal was used draw range boundaries. Range sizes 142 400 acres seven an area great ecological diversity smaller than 2 square miles adult male less diverse farming section. Shapes tended be linear with linearity partially associated habitat features. Patterns home-range use approximately described the geometric distribution deviation from caused sectors concentrated use. time required measure adequately home varied 5 16 days depending on patterns daily suggestion territorial behavior noted between two females.
