摘要: We present firm evidence that the mechanism for refractive-index increase in fused silica caused by irradiation with ultrafast intense laser pulses is densification of glass. This conclusion based on correlation observed between values waveguides produced focused femtosecond and shift central frequency ω4 (TO) band (Si–O stretching mode) micro-Raman spectra. These data were compared relation Raman to density refractive index changes glasses modified high pressure or irradiation. conclude measured can be explained glass exclude other hypothesis such as fictive-temperature effect, color center formation, etc.
