Prompt Fission γ–ray Spectra Characteristics – Systematics and Predictions

摘要: Revised systematics for prompt fission gamma-ray spectra (PFGS) characteristics as function of both atomic and mass number the compound system, derived from recent experiments on thermal-neutron induced spontaneous fission, is presented applied to by fast neutrons. Results these calculations U-238(n, f) U-235(n, incident neutron energies 0 20 MeV are compared new experimental results, exhibiting nice agreement. Very PFGS measurements Pu-240(sf) Pu-242(sf) have been evaluated determined shown also fit well with systematics. From this we conclude that obtained systematics, although purely empirical, indeed a useful tool prediction average total energy released in mean per photon multiplicity fissioning systems, which difficult or even impossible study experimentally.
