摘要: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a technique that can activate cortical motor areas and the corticospinal tract without causing subject discomfort. Since TMS was introduced, numerous applications of have been developed for evaluation neurologic diseases. Standard (central conduction time, threshold amplitude evoked potentials) allow in CNS. Conduction studies provide specific information conditions characterized by clinical subclinical upper neuron involvement. In addition, they proved useful monitoring abnormalities recovery function. also gives on pathophysiology processes underlying various conditions. More complex (paired-pulse stimulation, silent period, ipsilateral input-output curve, central fatigue) investigation into mechanisms diseases changes excitability areas. These techniques are effects neurotrophic drugs activity. an important place among investigative tools to study patients with disorders.
