摘要: Three studies were undertaken to determine the effects of amount, timing and distribution simulated rainfall on developmental success Haemonchus contortus. Faeces containing H. contortus eggs deposited onto pasture plots under a rainfall-activated retractable roof which eliminated incident rainfall. In October (spring) 2004 January (summer) 2005, amount (6, 12, 18 or 24 mm) (1, 4, 8 15 days post-faecal deposition) single event was investigated via manual application water plots. More pre-infective larvae (L1 L2) developed d 1 treatment than later treatments. There no effect development in either experiment, negligible infective (L3). February 2006, (12, 32 (single three smaller but equal split events over h) with applied sprinkler. this experiment L3 recovered from herbage one-third harvested, however recovery low (0.08% deposited) there effects. Recovery L1 L2 faeces increased at more 4. The results indicate that moisture conditions soon after faecal deposition are key determinants success, significant penalties when 7 post-deposition, duration short. High rates evaporation during both summer experiments resulted rapid drying micro-environment appears have limited L3.
