The personal context of a museum experience: similarities and differences between science and art museums

摘要: The article focuses on the development of research that illuminates not only socioeconomic profiles museum visitors and non-visitors but also their cultural habits, general entertainment interests, perceptions art, science, other topics addressed at these institutes. more we know about a visitor's personal context, can enhance his or her experience, thereby encouraging further visits during which expectations, wishes, needs will be fully met. how local culture plays an important part in shaping both context as well each experience. Some examples are provided from literature, above all concerning studies Brazil contributions art museums may have for science museums.
