摘要: Research efforts for realizing safer and higher performance energetic materials are continuing unabated all over the globe. While thermites - pyrotechnic compositions of an oxide a metal have been finely tailored thanks to progress in other sectors, organic high explosives still stagnating. The most symptomatic example is longstanding challenge nanocrystallization 1,3,5-trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX). Recent advances crystallization processes milling technology mark beginning new area which will hopefully lead pyroelectric industry finally embrace nanotechnology. This work reviews previous current techniques used crystallize RDX at submicrometer scale or smaller. Several key points highlighted then discussed, such as smallest particle size its morphology, scale-up capacity versatility process.
