摘要: During the past year, which was final one on a 3-year program, research efforts were focused principally continuing development of physical test facility employed to study control and communication problems at, below, sector level. This done in context high-speed (to 26.8 m/s) operations at time headways as small 1 s. The principal accomplishments during this year were: (1) selection sector-level concept, design implementation hardware required for operations, choice geometrics over online would be realized; (2) successful field evaluation computer-to-controlled vehicle link; (3) design, development, (with very promising results) "radar" approach lateral control; (4) longitudinal controller provided excellent performance--a small-position error, comfortable ride, relative insensitivity disturbance forces--on consistent basis wide range environmental conditions. secondary included construction sidewall structure radar steering, (and evaluation) previously designed controllers with microprocessor-based units.
