摘要: The geology of the Elba Island is very interesting for its structural complexity, relationships between Mio- Pliocene magmatism and tectonics location Corsica Northern Apennines. In fact, it southwesternmost outcrop Apennines chain. The first tectono-sedimentary events come back to Palaeozoic. in Palaeozoic basement are clearly recorded Hercynian and, probably, also Caledonian events. Alpine sedimentary succession began during Triassic tectonic evolution begins Late Cretaceous - Early Tertiary goes on until Miocene Pliocene. compressive movements started with consumption Mesozoic Western Tethys (Liguria-Piedmont Basin), went up collision European (Corsica) Adriatic (Tuscany Domain) margins (Abbate et al., 1980, Boccaletti 1980; Bortolotti 2001a), terminated successive polyphase deformations, which originated Apennine orogenic chain. Trevisan (1950), proposed a geological frame I. which, successively slightly modified by Barberi al. (1967; 1969), has been starting-point all studies. This model divides nappe pile into five Complexes. New stratigraphical data modify this frame. new scheme we propose (Bortolotti comprises nine units, built Tuscan (Adria continental margin), Ligurian Liguria-Piedmont (Jurassic-Eocene oceanic domains) successions, piled complex frame. This complicated post-orogenic extensional events, that produced thinning crust underlies Units, uplift Moho birth Tyrrhenian Basin (Boccaletti 1985; Bartole 1991; Bartole, 1995 cum bibl.; Carmignani 1995). To phase linked emplacement monzogranitic bodies formation ore deposits skarns. These latter constitute one best known features (Marinelli, 1975; Serri Tanelli, 1977; 1983 bibl.).
