摘要: We have investigated long-term synaptic depression in the CA1 region of rat hippocampal slices. Prolonged low-frequency stimulation (LFS; 900 stimuli delivered at 2 Hz) Schaffer collateral-commissural pathway naive slices did not induce (LTD) transmission. However, if potentiation (LTP) was firstly induced then LFS generated an LTD-like effect (i.e. depotentiation LTP). Depotentiation could be h (the longest time studied) after induction LTP and stable for duration experiment (followed up to 40 min). The blocked by N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor antagonist d-2-amino-5-phosphonopentanoate, L-type voltage-gated Ca2+ channel blocker nimodipine or nitric oxide synthase inhibitor Nω-nitro-l-arginine. magnitude reversibly reduced, a stereoselective manner, specific metabotropic glutamate (mGluR) (+)-α-methyl-4-carboxyphenylglycine. These results show that prolonged low frequency can result mGluR-dependent LTP.
