摘要: Germinated Brown Rice Ki-Taek Lim, Jeong Moon Choi, Won-Chul Jangho Kim, Hong-Yon Cho, Jong Hoon Chung* Department of Biosystems & Biomaterials Science and Engineering, Research Institute Agriculture Life Sciences, Seoul National University, 151-921, Republic Korea Food Biotechnology, Sejong 339-700, Received: July 20th 2014; Revised: 29th Accepted: August 17th 2014 Purpose: The aim this study was to prepare evaluate a natural material extracted from germinated brown rice (GBR). Herein, we evaluated whether the could positively activate biological effects seen during bone formation, including enhancement metabolic activity, osteogenesis, expression vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), one factors in human osteoblast-like cells. Methods: created by hot water extraction process after being soaked for 2~3 days tap dried at 50°C. characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. behaviors were also investigated; performed tests assess cell cytotoxicity, osteogenic markers related VEGF. Results: EDX, XRD, FTIR results indicated presence organic compounds. caused positive increases activity mineralized formation without cytotoxicity. protein levels extract 6.25 μg/mL, 12.25 25 50 100 μg/mL groups significantly different that control. Conclusions: GBR-based easy had characteristics potential biomaterial. biocompatibility vitro techniques; our findings indicate novel is promising agricultural applications.
