摘要: There is significant interest in the models for production of short gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). Until now, number known GRBs with multi-wavelength afterglows has been small. While Fermi GRB Monitor detects many relative to Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory, large localization regions makes search counterparts difficult. With Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) recently achieving first light, it now fruitful use its combination depth (m_(AB) ~ 20.6), field view (≈47 square degrees), and survey cadence (every ~3 days) perform Target Opportunity observations. We demonstrate this capability on 180523B, which was announced by as a GRB. ZTF imaged ≈2900 degrees region, resulting coverage 61.6% enclosed probability over two nights m_(AB) 20.5. characterized 14 previously unidentified transients, none were found be consistent counterpart. This shows an efficient camera searching coarsely localized gravitational-wave counterparts, allowing sensitive minimal interruption nominal cadence.
