摘要: While histamine effects have been studied for decades in many classical experiments of basic pharmacology, and is often used as a tool to elucidate fundamental pharmacological principles drug-receptor interactions, it only within recent years that its importance neurotransmitter has recognized. This despite findings the substance CNS early 1900s, with differential distribution enzymes necessary synthesis (for review, see [1]). As will be described below, new suggest important therapeutic roles potential drugs interdict histaminergic pathways various neurological diseases, particularly those having cognitive deficit these may anticipated ameliorate (see Fig. 1 chemical structures key compounds discussed).
