Design Factors Influencing Quality of Building Projects in Nigeria: Consultants' Perception

摘要: Various factors identified from the literature that caninfluence quality of building projects in Nigeria have beenstudied by means questionnaire survey sent to architects,engineers and quantity surveyors industry. From atotal response 107 consultants, importance eachfactor was obtained via severity frequency responsesof factors. Data analysis includes comparisons ofranking among consultants using severity, andimportance indexes, correlation analysis, percentagerank agreement factor (PRAF) measure inthe ranking consultants.Correlation results between professionals are architects/quantity (0.75), architects/engineers (0.21 ),and engineers/quantity (0.24). The shows five mostimportant affecting 'design changes'(78.9%); 'inadequate involvement other professionalsduring design stage' (78.9%); 'insufficient andunrealistic constraints project cost' (71.1 %); 'poor levelof commitment improvement designprofessionals' (63.2%); 'making decisions oncost not value work' (55.3%). this studywould provide feedback for clients, qualitymangers all industry, so thateffective management can be ensured theconceptual-design stage project.
