摘要: Syndecans are important mediators of signalling by transmitting external stimuli into the cells. This role in signal transduction has been attributed mainly to membrane-bound syndecans. In last years, however, soluble ectodomain syndecans generated shedding come focus research as this process show modulate syndecan-dependent pathways, well other pathways. review summarizes current knowledge about induction syndecan and different pathways modulated shed proteins. known putative sheddases for each describes exemplary conditions sheddase activity some proposed use biomarkers various diseases, depends crucially on tissue- disease-specific activation sheddases. Furthermore, potential a therapeutic option is discussed, basis literature. LINKED ARTICLES: article part themed section Translating Matrix.
