摘要: The term “stem cell exceptionalism” has been used to characterize the policy response controversies surrounding human embryonic stem research. For example, governments and funding agencies have adopted policies governing derivation use of lines. These effectively served fill gaps in existing guidelines regulations signal that scientists are committed a responsible framework for conduct research involving embryos. Recent publications discuss whether ethical issues associated with induced pluripotent cells (iPSCs) from non-embryonic sources create need further intervention. We suggest many identified by commentators may be addressed through application established frameworks tissue, cells, participation subjects. To extent, iPSC intersects hESC (e.g. creation gametes and/or embryos), appears sufficiently robust at this time.
