摘要: Purpose: To experimentally assess visual attention difficulties commonly reported by those with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Methods: Twenty-nine ME/CFS patients and 29 controls took part in the study. Performance was assessed using Useful Field of View (UFOV), a spatial cueing task search. Results: Patients performed similarly on processing speed subtest UFOV. However, exhibited marginally worse performance compared divided significantly selective subtest. In task, they were slower than to respond presence target, particularly when cues invalid. They also impaired, relative controls, search tasks. Conclusions: We have provided experimental evidence for ME/CFS-related directing attention. These findings support subjective reports could represent potential means improve diagnosis.
